How do I modify my nameservers?

When you type your domain name into your web browser, your computer figures out where your website is located by looking at the nameservers associated with your domain name.

If the nameservers associated with your domain name are not pointing to LithiumHost, then nobody will be able to find your website on our web servers.

(In other words, the nameservers associated with your domain name must point to our nameservers instead of your old host.)

To point your domain name to our nameservers:

  1. Visit the website where you registered your domain name and selecting the "manage my domain name" link. (Or similar)
  2. Choose the "modify nameserver information" link (Or similar) and enter your nameserver information.

Once you change your nameserver information, it will take about 24 - 48 hours before all the computers on the Internet are updated. During that time, some visitors may go to your old website and some may be sent to your new website on our servers.
